Launch of QMedLINKS: General Medicine
The CD was launched at the Annual Conference of the Indian Medical Association
(Mumbai Chapter) on the 8 th of February, 2004 Vasumathi Sriganesh –
Director – gave a presentation titled “Stay Updated - Always”.
She highlighted the fact that traditional search methods used by most people resulted
in a lot of clutter and wastage of time and gave a quick overview on how to use
Medical Information Resources. The CD was launched with a “click”
by Padma Bhushan Dr. R.D. Lele – renowned Nuclear Medicine Specialist, and
a pioneer in the use of Computers in Medicine. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted
the fact that Indian doctors needed to publish a lot more in areas like Tropical
Diseases and Tuberculosis, and for this, they needed to be able to retrieve world-wide
literature with ease. |
