Dr. V. R. Joshi January 2004 There
are two factors that constitute the hallmark of a good physician – Dedication
and Knowledge. Ironically the more dedicated a physician is, the
less time he will have to keep abreast with the overflow of knowledge on an ongoing
basis. The internet while being a boon to a doctor in this regards, can
be pretty time consuming, unless one is Internet savvy. One can be cluttered with
a lot of unnecessary information . Each search turns up with hundreds of articles,
majority of which are not relevant. Hence one has to glean the grain from the
husk, which can be a tedious task This CD
ROM is aimed at the majority of physicians who can access the most useful articles
form journals the world over, but lack the time or expertise at surfing the net. The
ROM has inbuilt links to the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed (which
is a familiar search engine for most of us). Moreover there are links to subtopics
in each illness, such as the etiology, classification or treatment of a disease.
This makes access to most, if not all indexed journals easy, precise and
instantaneous. I have no doubt, that the CD will be of utmost utility to
practitioners and medical students across the board. My best wishes to
the success of this CD and I look forward to the launch of such utility CDs in
all specialties |
